The Importance of Art

      I disagree with the statement. Tax dollars should definitely be spent on art, music, and theater classes in high school because of the many benefits it will bring when young people enter into the workforce. Yes I do agree that schools should focus more on preparing students for the workforce but that isn't the only important part of life. By offering these classes, it allows young people to explore their passions and interests, which they can carry into their lives after graduation. Passions and interests are a huge part of the workforce. When people have stronger passions for their interests and their career correlates with it, it makes their work and productivity much more fine-tuned. 

     In addition to the career options that these classes present, these classes also offer students a break from their hard courses. It gives them a chance to express their creativity and take a moment to catch up with themselves. It also builds their problem solving skills. They learn how to overcome challenges that they are presented with on day to day basis or in their projects and artworks.
